About:
Childcare Booking App that allows Sitters to find an interesting job and Families to find good babysitters for their children. The verification app system for both roles on the Sign-Up step guarantees only real jobs and real candidates with real interviews as well as certificates' verification. The application has built-in secure payments and the review system that ensures only the best candidate for your child. Chat function makes communication for both parties more convenient and effective.

- to implement new features in mobile applications;

- to interact with a third-party developer from Canada;
- to create new pages in the web version, which was previously handled by a third-party backend developer.

Solution:
- complete redesign of applications;
- rewrote from scratch the components that were affected by the redesign;
- added Twilio chats and built-in calls to applications for more effective communication between users, pop-up screens and additional modal tips to make sure users understand how the application works;
- changed several key flows to improve the UX and more reliable operation of the application;
- implemented push notifications through Firebase with the ability to send notifications by the coordinator;
- redesigned major key components (job screen and sign up screen for babysitters and families).
Features:
- legacy code, currently the project is being developed by the 6th developer, and the original architecture does not provide for such large-scale changes;
- frequently changing task priorities (sometimes daily), so sprints are flexible and adopted to customer needs;
- for the first time in 2 years of project development, we started working on a web part with a very peculiar solution, the backend is written in Perl, and the frontend is generated from it using HTML templates in the Template Toolkit. Therefore, it was jointly decided to take large blocks that require large changes step by step, write them from scratch in React and implement them into a working product. The goal of such a solution is to cover the current functionality with React pages with minimal losses and assemble it into a single application, while minimally affecting the budget and deadlines, thanks to step-by-step implementation.
